Kolkata Knight Riders showcased an impressive performance during their IPL 2024 game with Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday and clinched a dominant seven-wicket win. The key to their victory was Venkatesh Iyer’s brutal fifty, which set the stage for KKR’s pursuit to the 183-run mark. Iyer’s frenzied run-rate of 50 runs from only 30 balls, augmented by three boundaries and four sixes, created the needed energy for KKR’s chase following the opener Sunil Narine whacked the RCB bowling attack during the first overs.
Narine along with Phil Salt took on the RCB bowlers prior to Iyer’s spectacular fireworks, which they matched with spectacular smashes that they had their own. Narine’s dazzling strike of 47 off just 22 deliveries, which included five sixes and two fours and Salt’s quick 30 off just 20 balls, comprising the two boundary and two sixes made sure that KKR maintained command throughout the innings. With the batsmen’s brave strategy, KKR chased down the goal in only 16.5 overs, further enhancing the team’s bowling woes.
The RCB team suffered their second defeat in their third game, and cricket experts aren’t impressed by their efforts to win in the field.
