Nayab Saini Sworn in as Haryana Chief Minister, 5 Ministers Take Oath

Nayab Saini of the BJP, along with five ministers, were sworn in Tuesday as Haryana’s chief minister.

Nayab Saini, a BJP leader, was sworn-in as Haryana’s chief minister on February 2, just hours after Manohar Khattar resigned and his cabinet ministers resigned. Kanwar Pal, Moolchand Sharma, Jai Parkash Dalal and Banwari Lal – BJP members – as well as Ranjit Singh Chautala, an independent MLA, took oaths to become part of the new Council of Ministers.

Nayab Saini

Nayab Saini, a BJP leader, took the oath to become Haryana’s new chief minister. He was named the state president of Haryana BJP last October. In 1996, he began his political career by working with the state general secretariat until 2000. Saini was the district general secretariat of the BJP Youth Wing Ambala, in 2002. He later became the district president for Ambala.

Kanwar Pal

Kanwar Pal was the speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly between 2014 and 2019. He is one of the cabinet members in the newly formed Haryana Government. He was twice elected from Jagadhri to the Haryana Legislative Assembly.

Mool Chand Singh

Mool Chand was a cabinet minister for transport in the Manohar lal Khattar led Haryana government. He held three other positions – Mines, geology, education and elections. Since 2014, he has been an MLA for the Ballabhgarh Vidhan Sabha Constituency.

Jai Parkash Dalal

Jai Parkash Dalal was one of the five ministers in the Nayab Saini led government who took the oath. In 2019, he was elected as a member of the Haryana Assembly for Loharu. Dalal joined the saffron-colored party in 2014. He held several positions, including vice president of the state BJP, head of BJP Kisan Cell, and Jind District in-charge.

Banwari Lal

Banwari Lal was elected in 2019 to the Haryana state legislature from Bawal. Since 2019, he has served as minister of cooperation, minister of scheduled classes, and minister for backward classes.

Ranjit Singh Chautala

Ranjit Singh Chautala, an independent Haryana MLA. He was a former member of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), the Janata Dal (JD), the Indian National Congress and the BJP. Chautala was elected as an independent candidate from Rania in the 2019 elections. After the 2019 Assembly Election, Chautala and his grandson Dushyant Chautala joined the BJP to form an alliance. They secured three ministries in the Manohar Khattar led government – new and renewable energy (NERE), power and jails.
